Never Let Me Go

I can honestly say that I am utterly confused by what is going on in this book. From what I've gathered, this school is some kind of institute that only children growing up to be donors can go. Like a donor farm or something. What I really don't understand are the guardians, especially Miss Lucy, and why creativity is such a vital part of being a donor. Also, Madame is such a mysterious character. If she is afraid of the students, why does she continue to go and take their art work? And while we're even on the matter, why is Madame even afraid of the students. Could it be that it's because they have been marked to never lead a normal life? Ugh....... Confusing!!!
